DOUGLAS SMITH’s upcoming films include Kevin Costner’s two-part Western epic, HORIZON: An American Saga, scheduled for theatrical release this summer, director Peter Cannon’s psychological thriller EXPOSURE which was just acquired by Gravitas Ventures, and Atom Egoyan’s concert-film hybrid SEVEN VEILS, starring Amanda Seyfried. SEVEN VEILS had its domestic premiere at TIFF 2023 and its international premiere at Berlinale 2024.
Douglas recently wrapped shooting the post-apocalyptic feature film DIE ALONE, in which he stars opposite Carrie-Anne Moss and Frank Grillo, as well as dramatic thriller RIDING SHOTGUN for director Dionne Copland. Next up, Douglas will be starring in Canadia indie LUNAR SWAY with Liza Weil.
Douglas can also be seen in DON’T WORRY DARLING, opposite Florence Pugh, Harry Styles, Olivia Wilde, Chris Pine, Gemma Chan, and Kiki Layne, as well as THE SWEARING JAR, a musical romantic drama with Patrick J. Adams and Adelaide Clemens. His television work includes the role of Marcus Isaacson on the Emmy-award-winning series THE ALIENIST, alongside Daniel Bruhl, Luke Evans, and Dakota Fanning. He has also starred in several HBO series, including BIG LITTLE LIES, with Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Laura Dern, Shailene Woodley, Zoë Kravitz, and Meryl Streep; Martin Scorsese and Terence Winter’s VINYL; and BIG LOVE, in which Douglas memorably played the role of Ben Henrickson.
Douglas’s extensive credits also include THE BYE BYE MAN, John Madden’s MISS SLOANE, starring Jessica Chastain, TERMINATOR GENISYS, the hit horror OUIJA, PERCY JACKSON: SEA OF MONSTERS, and Brandon Cronenberg’s ANTIVIRAL. On stage, he received rave reviews for the lead performance in the Obie-award-winning Off-Broadway play PUNK ROCK.
