Douglas Smith is perhaps best known for his standout roles in HBO series including BIG LITTLE LIES, alongside Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Laura Dern, Shailene Woodley, Zoë Kravitz, and Meryl Streep; Martin Scorsese and Terence Winter’s VINYL; and BIG LOVE, in which he played the fan-favorite role of “Ben Henrickson.”
His upcoming films include the second chapter of Kevin Costner’s two-part Western epic, HORIZON: AN AMERICAN SAGA, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival 2024 and awaits theatrical release; Atom Egoyan’s concert-film hybrid SEVEN VEILS, starring Amanda Seyfried, which will release on March 7, 2025 via XYZ Films and Variance; and the Canadian independent feature LUNAR SWAY opposite Liza Weil. Most recently, he wrapped production on director Tamlin Hall’s mystery thriller RED CAMELLIA, opposite Carly Chaikin.
Currently, Douglas can be seen as a recurring guest star on ABC’s WILL TRENT; Chapter 1 of Kevin Costner’s HORIZON: An American Saga now streaming on Netflix; director Peter Cannon’s psychological thriller EXPOSURE streaming on Apple TV; and the post-apocalyptic feature DIE ALONE, in which he stars opposite Carrie-Anne Moss and Frank Grillo, streaming on Tubi and Prime Video.
Additionally, Douglas can be seen in DON’T WORRY DARLING, opposite Florence Pugh, Harry Styles, Olivia Wilde, Chris Pine, Gemma Chan, and Kiki Layne, as well as THE SWEARING JAR, a musical romantic drama with Patrick J. Adams and Adelaide Clemens. His television work includes the Emmy Award-winning series THE ALIENIST, alongside Daniel Brühl, Luke Evans, and Dakota Fanning, as well as a guest appearance on The CW’s SUPERMAN & LOIS.
Previous credits also include THE BYE BYE MAN, John Madden’s MISS SLOANE, starring Jessica Chastain, TERMINATOR GENISYS, the hit horror OUIJA, PERCY JACKSON: SEA OF MONSTERS, and Brandon Cronenberg’s ANTIVIRAL.
