Biography

Hannah James stars in the upcoming Amazon Prime Video limited series THE GRAY HOUSE, produced by Kevin Costner and Morgan Freeman, premiering February 26, 2026. The Civil War spy drama, written by Emmy-nominated Leslie Greif alongside Darrell Fetty and John Sayles and directed by Roland Joffé, tells the extraordinary true story of the unsung women who helped turn the tide of the war in favor of the Union.

Additionally, she recently wrapped M. Night Shyamalan’s upcoming feature REMAIN, in which she stars opposite Jake Gyllenhaal. The film will be released by WBD in Fall 2026 in collaboration with a sister novel by Nicholas Sparks.

Hannah’s acting career began with her breakout starring role in the critically acclaimed PBS drama MERCY STREET, from Scott Free Productions. She has since delivered memorable performances in pivotal roles across prestige and fan-favorite television, including OUTLANDER (Starz), SUPERGIRL (The CW), WESTWORLD (HBO), and the ABC pilot HEART OF LIFE.

Originally from Virginia, Hannah holds dual citizenship in the U.S. and the U.K.
