Richard Flood

Biography

Richard is renowned for his roles alongside Emmy Rossum in the acclaimed Showtime series SHAMELESS and opposite Ellen Pompeo in the enduring ABC hit GREY’S ANATOMY. Recently, he starred in the TVNZ gripping drama-thriller THE GONE, which garnered significant praise during its first season and also aired on BBC. Richard was nominated for the Best Actor award for his performance in THE GONE at the New Zealand Television Awards. Currently, Richard is reprising his compelling lead role as "Theo Richter" for the show's highly anticipated second season, which is wrapping production.

 

Originally from Ireland, Richard boasts a distinguished career across film, television, and theatre. His notable film credits include KILLING KENNEDY, 3 WISE WOMEN, SOLO, REMAIN IN LIGHT, and TAKING THE BOAT. On television, he has held series regular roles on NBC’s CROSSING LINES, TV3’s RED ROCK, and TITANIC – BLOOD AND STEEL, as well as DEIRDRE OF THE SORROWS. In theatre, Richard has showcased his talent in productions such as CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF at Gate Theatre Dublin, LOBSTER and VANTASTIC at Oval House Theatre, THE RUBENSTEIN KISS at Soho Theatre Studio, STARVING at Theatre 503, DON JUAN in Soho at Donmar Warehouse, THE FREEDOM OF THE CITY at Finborough Theatre, and DRUIDSYNGE on a US Tour under the direction of Garry Hines. Additionally, Richard produced and starred in the short film 32 CARATI in Italy.
